At Intune, our passion for movement and expression has always extended beyond the dance floor. I'd like to introduce our new yoga classes for children aged 5-8, right here in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire at Glyme Hall, every Thursday afternoon from 4:30 to 5:15pm.
Much like our dance sessions, these yoga classes are rooted in inspiration. Through a careful blend of storytelling and traditional yoga, we aim to ignite that same spark of passion in our youngest yogis. Under the guidance of our dedicated and enthusiastic yoga teacher, children will not only learn yoga poses but will embark on journeys of imagination, mindfulness, and relaxation.
True to our ethos, these sessions promise to be enjoyable explorations of movement, emphasizing fun just as much as technique and mindfulness. And, as always, we're devoted to recognizing the individuality of each child.
We're excited to embark on this new chapter of movement and mindfulness at Intune, and we warmly invite you to be a part of this journey. Join us, and let's inspire together.
Mindful Moments for Young Minds
At Intune, we understand the profound impact that mindfulness can have, especially on young, developing minds. Our yoga classes introduce children to the practice of body scans, a technique that encourages them to tune into their own bodies, acknowledging and understanding sensations, emotions, and thoughts.
Alongside this, we weave in enchanting stories, acting as gentle gateways to introspection and fostering a sense of wonder. Together, these practices not only instil a heightened sense of self-awareness but also cultivate a deeper connection to the world around them.
Through these mindful moments, we aim to provide our young participants with tools they can carry with them, enriching their daily lives with calm, clarity, and a heightened understanding of themselves.
Beyond the Mat - Benefits of Yoga Classes for Your Child
The benefits of yoga and mindfulness stretches far beyond the confines of the mat or the duration of a class. At Intune, we advocate for these practices not merely as exercises but as holistic approaches to a balanced life.
Introducing your child to yoga offers numerous benefits, from improved physical flexibility and strength to enhanced concentration and emotional resilience. Meanwhile, mindfulness acts as a grounding force, allowing children to navigate the tumultuous waves of growing up with a serene anchor.
Integrating these practices into their routine can aid in better sleep, reduce anxieties, and foster a greater appreciation for the present moment. Moreover, these lessons ripple outwards, positively influencing their interactions, decisions, and reactions in their day-to-day lives.
By embracing yoga and mindfulness, we provide our young ones with invaluable life skills, equipping them to flourish both on and off the mat.

1. Q: My child has never tried yoga before. Is it suitable for beginners?
A: Absolutely! Our classes are tailored for children of all levels, including complete beginners. The sessions are designed to be welcoming and encouraging, allowing each child to progress at their own pace. The primary goal is to foster a love for movement, mindfulness, and self-awareness, rather than perfecting any particular pose.
2. Q: Will my child get enough physical activity during a yoga class? I'm concerned it might be too slow-paced.
A: Yoga for children is a dynamic blend of movement, stretching, and play. While it does incorporate moments of stillness and relaxation, a significant portion of the class is dedicated to active poses and sequences that help improve strength, flexibility, and coordination. Your child will undoubtedly get their heart rate up and enjoy a good amount of physical activity.
3. Q: How can yoga benefit my child outside of just physical activity?
A: Beyond the physical aspects, yoga offers a plethora of benefits for the mind and emotions. Regular practice can enhance concentration, promote better sleep, reduce anxieties, and foster emotional resilience. By learning to connect breath with movement, children also gain tools to navigate stress and challenging situations in their daily lives.
4. Q: I'm worried my child might feel out of place or shy. How do you ensure each child feels included?
A: At Intune, individuality is celebrated. Our experienced instructors are trained to foster an inclusive environment where every child feels seen and supported. We incorporate group activities and partner poses that promote camaraderie and teamwork, ensuring each child feels a sense of belonging and connection.
5. Q: Are the instructors qualified to teach children?
A: Absolutely. Our yoga teachers are not only trained in the discipline of yoga but also have specific training in teaching children. They are equipped with techniques to ensure classes are safe, engaging, and age-appropriate. Additionally, all our teachers undergo background checks to ensure the utmost safety for your child.
We understand that choosing an activity for your child requires careful consideration. If you have any more questions or would like to discuss further, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We're here to help and excited to welcome your child into our yoga community!
